Chris and I heard about the Art Shanty Project through some friends of friends and thought it a cruel joke to get us out of our house. It worked. Together with the pooch Lucy, we journied to Medicine Lake in Plymouth, MN to see for ourselves. Equal parts art, architecture, performance and crafty showmanship there were bunches of small "ice fishing" structures cobbled together with different themes...a church (complete with confessional), a mini farmhouse, a mini performance space..... Some people were coming out of the wooden silo structure in bathing suits. I kid you not.
Here is the evidence of our outing. So strange to be walking in the middle of a lake. A Minnesota first!
